David J. Fionda, CPA is a highly accomplished, internationally recognized speaker and consultant on finance systems. Dave started his career with the international CPA firm Arthur Andersen and Company.

He then joined the accounting and finance faculty at Babson College, one of the premier business schools in the country.

After Babson, Dave started one of the first organizations to focus exclusively on implementing mid-market financial information systems from Microsoft Business Solutions. He grew the organization to be one of their most successful business partners, with over 300+ successful finance system implementations across a range of company sizes and industries. Dave was also one of the designers of Microsoft’s leading Dynamics GP mid-market software solution, serving on their design advisory team.

Dave then acquired the Italian market rights for Microsoft’s SMB accounting solutions. Despite 14 American accounting software companies failing before him, including Olivetti, who spent over $1 million to being a product to market, Dave’s knowledge of technology, ERP and finance systems and immersion in the incredibly complex requirements of the Italian and European markets resulted in a solution that was brought to market in less than 10 months.

Dave was then asked by Inc. Magazine to develop a new methodology to plan, select and implement finance systems. The “Planning a State of the Art Financial Information System” Executive Briefing was attended by over 500 mid-market and enterprise C-level executives. Dave’s strategic methodology was used by many of these organizations, saving millions of dollars.

Upon selling his finance systems practice, Dave joined the team at SAP. His focus was to develop solutions for SAP’s mid-market customers using a combination of R/3 and Business One.

Dave was then hired by top international defense contractor Raytheon to help solve several critical finance and ERP system initiatives. Leading a team of internal subject matter, finance, learning and technology experts, Dave developed a series of programs and solutions, using Six Sigma methodology, that saved the company millions of dollars.

Dave joined the faculty of Bentley University in 2012 and has been teaching Managerial Accounting in the McCallum Graduate School. Dave’s classes are in a hybrid format, combining both in-class instruction as well as having students connected via virtual classroom from all over the country.
